Product Description

The Kiowa people are a native American tribe, indigenous to the Great Plains, and one of only three tribes that lived in tipis (or teepees) up until the mid 1800s. Our tipi is named after the Kiowa people.

Unlike the animal skin native American dwellings of years gone by, this modern "Kiowa" Tipi is made from lighweight yet strong 210gsm polycotton and has a tough 540gsm PVC floor, giving you excellent protection from the elements. Wind protection is impressive too, as the cone shape allows prevailing winds to spill off to the side, whatever direction they are coming from.

Ventilation is provided by four low level vents for excellent circulation and the top of the tipi has a rain cowl that can be raised from inside giving further air flow and respite from the heat should your stove get things a little too warm. It also has full mosquito mesh behind the double front door so that you can leave those doors open on warm nights, or even cold ones if it's warm inside.

Speaking of stoves, the tipi comes as standard with no stove jack. The photos show it with a sewn in jack but we no longer offer this option. Instead we offer Petromax's silicone stove jack which can be added by the customer in the desired position, and fits most tent stoves. See it below in the 'Related Products' area.

Kiowa is shipped with a strong steel centre pole and all pegs and ropes.
