Outhaus swags are the best you are going to get in terms of build quality and performance. All models are sewn with Coats Dual Duty thread, which is an extremely strong cotton thread with polyester core, and have externally bound seams to further increase water reistance. The thick bathtub PVC floors have heat sealed seams, a feature usually found in large canvas tents, to further improve performance. We have been making swags for 10 years and have always sought to constantly improve and innovate.
Davenport is a large swag measuring 1100mm wide and can fit two people at a push. It's like a Rockhampton and Palmerston hybrid.
Available in Forest Green or Woodland Brown, both colours blend perfectly in their surroundings.

Canvas swags are a relatively new concept to the UK and, hopefully, this guide will give you more of an idea of what you can expect from this famous well proven icon of the great outdoors.
It is an evolution of the days of Waltzing Matilda and the Australian 'Jolly Swagman' travelling from farm to farm looking for work and sleeping by the billabong under the coolibah tree in his simple bedroll - essentially his blanket in which all his belongings were kept.
The first thing to acknowledge about a swag is that it would be a mistake to call it a tent. In Australia, tents are tents and swags are swags. The humble swag is better thought of as a sleeping system. It is an extremely comfortable mattress set inside a strong, hard wearing canvas shelter. You can keep some items inside with you and sometimes even have more than one of you but you're not going to be doing any cooking in there and getting dressed is easier outside than in.
Outhaus swags are made from very heavy duty waterproofed polycotton canvas and have strong waterproof PVC bases so they can be used on their own in all but the most extreme weather. However, most swags are top loading, which means that if it's raining and you want to get in or out, you're going to get wet, as is the inside of your swag. To this end, the most popular way to enjoy a swag is to think of it as just the bed part of your camp set up (similar to how you may view a hammock). Pitch an awning on your 4x4 or a tarp between some trees and have the swag pitched at the edge of this shelter. Then you have a large area for cooking and other activities, with your comfy canvas bedroom on the outskirts. This means that you're going to have a roof over you, protecting you from the weather and you can sleep with just the bug net, even if it's throwing it down outside.

Davenport 1100
Had been looking at these for a while and after getting in one on one of our hot days this summer was extremely impressed by the quality and comfort. I work in a camping shop/tent supplier and see alot of tents. It was much much cooler on a hot day that would have been unbearable if it was a polyester tent. The flip side is it will be much warmer on a cold day too. Most other things have been said but must add that these are very good value considering what goes into this shelter and will last infinitely longer than a polyester tent. Ollie was great too and it's fantastic to see a great British company producing a great product and service.

What an excellent quality product this is. Well thought out, well made, from material that will last a lifetime. I’m 6’2”, and can just about turn around in it. The pockets on the large end are a nice touch, and a big one on the end door. Which unzips on a double zip, then rolls down to the bathtub floor, revealing a fine mosi net door also with double zips (with pull tabs inside and out on each), also revealing a roll up canvas door which overlaps each side a few inches, in two sections of 2” Velcro on each side. These are really fiddly to mesh together from the inside. Easy from the outside, as is the foot end door, only opens from the outside. Both side doors are overlapped by a 3” strip on the outside, which I can’t see leaking (I haven’t tested in the rain yet, but I’m actually looking forward to testing it in a storm. The spreader bars push the 3 hoops apart, so will be really solid in high wind (not tested yet, can’t wait!). I’m sure more guys could be clove hitched to each hoop in a storm. You have to have your side door poles guyed close to the pole so the tensioner is close to the pole, so when you want to close the door you can drop the poles, and have slack to reach. Otherwise you have to get out, as you do to close the foot, and head, roll down doors. You could just about carry it in a rucksack, especially if you swapped the mattress for thermarests. But you wouldn’t have much room for anything else. Ideal for out of a car, or on a campsite, as I’m (both) using it now.

I have been looking for the right sleep system for me for a very long time but nothing I have tried has been quite the job. This swag now seems to really fit all my needs. The build quality is exceptional very comfortable and roomy and I think it will last for many years. A nice little surprise that is not mentioned in the specs is the two tarp poles and the very strong and sturdy carry bag which I think is a nice touch. If you are just looking and wondering I would recommend you take the plunge and make a purchase you will not be disappointed,

Outstanding kit
I was looking for a solution for motorcycle camping that provided more room and comfort than my ultralight backpacking kit. I certainly found it. This swag is exceptionally well constructed and very well thought out. I have had three nights in it since it arrived (day after ordering) and have nothing negative to say about it at all. It is exceptionally comfortable, has extensive ventilation options, blacks out the daylight and is warm and breathable. It is a little on the wide side for the back of the motorbike - but I knew that before ordering. Paired with a tarp it is absolutely perfect for my purposes and I'd throughly recommend it. Made for a very comfortable base in a wet Welsh campsite :-)
