Our cotton lined waxed cotton poncho has been carefully designed to make your adventures in the harsh elements as enjoyable as possible.
It is crafted from 405gsm (12oz) British made 100% cotton canvas with a protective, water resistant and breathable 100% cotton black lining. The canvas has an ultra dry waxed finish which readily forms a beautiful antiqued patina.
The poncho features a fully lined hood, that is fixed with DOT brand brass press studs negating the need for a seam around the neck, thereby reducing any risk of water ingress. The front of the poncho features a classic half zip opening which is backed to keep the weather out, even when open. nb: currently the YKK Aquaguard zip is black, not green as in the photos.
The flat, laid out poncho measures approximately 1.5 x 2.1m/2.25m/2.6m (short/medium/long) which translates to 1.5m wide across the shoulders and about 1m/1.15m/1.3m length, front and back.
We have added DOT brand press studs down both sides to allow the poncho to be closed off when being worn and these, along with the extra press studs at the rear and eyelet at the front, will allow it to be fitted to our slip-in bedrolls for a quick sleeping solution. The press studs also allow the poncho to be turned into a narrow bivvy by folding it lengthways and press-studding the long sides together.
These are made to the same design as our other canvas ponchos, hence the photos. We will update this page with specific cotton lined photos in due course.
These are made in our Essex workshop. Please allow a few days for delivery.

Cotton Lined Waxed Canvas Poncho (Made to Order)
This Poncho is the best!!
I received it on Wednesday, very quick delivery, but the good part is that it was torrential rain here, so I put it on and went out for the afternoon with the dog, it was brilliant, my neighbours thought I was crazy. It was quite warm out, but with the cotton lining and the design of the poncho it is quite airy, so very comfortable. When I got home I was completely dry, I might have to get our German Shepherd (Wally) one, he was soaked. I will also be using this for our camping trips as well as long walks, but as for the camping, I asked Ollie if he would sew the loops in, just in case I wanted to use it as a shelter, now that sounds like fun!! It also has eyelets fitted for the of poles or stick for out in the wild, which will be useful.
When looking at the Ponchos online I didn’t know what size to go for, thinking that the short one may be too short and the long too long, so I called Outhaus and spoke with Ollie. I told him I was 6ft tall and wasn’t sure about the length, he said that they had just been talking about making a mid length one, but also with the cotton lining, so after a chat, that’s what I ordered, perfect!!
The canvas material, the press studs, the lining, the stitching, everything is top quality, a great piece of English workmanship.
This is a great bit of kit that will last a lifetime of adventures.
